One of the few non-alcoholic exploits of my Colorado trip was a visit to the Denver Botanic Gardens. Admission is $12.50 for adults, but well worth it. And I imagine that caring for and cataloging all those plants racks up some pretty big bills.
The space is huge and divided into multiple smaller gardens: the fragrance garden, the Japanese tea garden, the herbal garden, etc. We wandered around for an hour or so, just taking it all in - the riot of colors, the delicious smells, the intricate beauty of the flowers, the tranquility of the surroundings, and some of the plumpest bees I have ever seen.
